Meccanotecnica Umbra has set itself the goal of implementing environmentally friendly production processes, promoting protection and adapting its organisation and operating methods to the requirements of the relevant standards.
Considerable investments have been made to reducing environmental impact, confirming the company's label as an environmentally sustainable company.
The formal process began in 1999 when the environmental management system was certified in accordance with the requirements of standard ISO 14001. In 2007, a further step was taken that testifies to the company's social responsibility and commitment to combining economic performance and environmental protection: adherence to the EU EMAS Regulation.
In March 2014, in culmination of the well-established policy of strong interpenetration between business aspects and values, MTU also achieved ISO 45001 certification.
In 2021, Meccanotecnica Umbra began using FSC®-certified wood and paper packaging and materials, an international NGO that has been promoting responsible forest management.
The FSC certification mark visible on our packaging certifies that it has been produced in accordance with strict environmental, social and economic standards which aim to safeguard the world's forests and respect local communities, workers' rights and the habitats of plant and animal species.
